2021 Volvo S60 Launched In India At Rs 45.90 Lakh

Swedish carmaker Volvo has officially started accepting online bookings for the new S60 sedan in India. The brand also announced its introductory price for our market and that will be Rs 45.90 lakh (ex-showroom). It is important to note that this price tag is introductory and will be applicable only to a limited number of bookings made online. Deliveries of the 2021 Volvo S60 will begin from March 2021. 

2021 Volvo S60 – Variant & Features

Built on the Volvo SPA (Scalable Product Architecture) platform, it looks like a smaller version of the S90 sedan. The new Volvo S60 is offered in a fully-loaded T4 Inscription variant, which comes equipped with an 18-inch 10-spoke diamond-cut alloy wheel, all-LED lighting system with an active bending technology for headlamps, panoramic sunroof, 9.0-inch vertically positioned touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay & Android Auto smartphone compatibility, 600-watt 14-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, leather upholstery, four-zone climate control, wireless charging, multiple driving modes, etc.

It also gets active & passive safety features such as adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, lane keep assist, and driver alert system, which make the driving experience slightly more dependable & safer. In fact, it has also received a 5-star safety rating in the Euro NCAP crash test. 

Powertrain

The 2021 Volvo S60 will be powered by a 2.0-liter, 4-cylinder petrol engine that makes 190PS of maximum power and 300Nm of peak torque. The engine is mated to an 8-speed automatic gearbox, which sends power to the front wheels. Its top speed is electronically-limited to 180kmph.

Competitors

In the Indian market, the Volvo S60 is positioned against the likes of the BMW 3 Series (Rs 42.60 – Rs 49.90 lakh), Jaguar XE (Rs 46.64 – Rs 48.50 lakh), Audi A4 (Rs 42.34 – Rs 46.67 lakh), and Mercedes-Benz C-Class (Rs 41.31 lakh – Rs 1.39 Cr). At an introductory price, the S60 undercuts the top-spec variants of all its rivals by a huge margin, even though it will be available as a CBU unit, and not being assembled locally.
