2021 Royal Enfield Himalayan To Launch Soon, Images Leaked

Royal Enfield has several new launches planned for the year 2021, and it is expected to launch a new model every quarter. Currently, the Chennai-based manufacturer is working on the updated version of its Himalayan adventure tourer motorcycle. Recently, its studio shots have been leaked online, suggesting its launch just around the corner.

As per the leaked images, the 2021 RE Himalayan will be dressed up in a new dual-tone paint scheme, including white with silver, and white with matte black. The image also reveals that it's tank grille/metal mounting that holds the headlamp assembly, has received a minor modification. In the current model of the bike, this mounting sometimes comes into contact with the rider's knee, especially of taller riders. So, by addressing the issue, Royal Enfield has moved the mounting a bit forward. The new Himalayan will also get a blacked-out heat shield on the exhaust system.

Alongside these changes, the new Royal Enfield Himalayan will also come equipped with a new tipper navigation system, just like the RE Meteor 350. For this, the Himalayan will feature a new pod beside the existing digital-analogue instrument cluster. This Google-powered navigation system shows the turn-by-turn feeds and works with the Royal Enfield app that allows you to pair your smartphone to the system using Bluetooth. This feature will work as a boon for enthusiast riders who love to explore undiscovered regions.

Mechanically, it is expected to be powered by the same 411cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled fuel-injected engine. However, to improve the engine refinement, it is likely to feature a new counterbalance shaft. The SI motor will continue to come with a 5-speed gearbox. Power figures (24.3bhp @ 6500 rpm / 32Nm @ 4000-4500 rpm) are also expected to remain unchanged.

Considering all the updates, the 2021 Royal Enfield Himalayan will demand a premium of around Rs 5,000 to 8,000 over the existing model, which starts from Rs 1.91 lakh (ex-showroom).
