Bajaj Announced Price Hike For Avenger Street 160 And Cruise 220

After increasing the costs of the entire Pulsar range, now Bajaj Auto has increased the ex-showroom prices of the Avenger range of motorcycles. Here's a look at the new updated prices of the Bajaj Avenger series: –

  • Prices of both the bikes have seen a similar increment of Rs 1,497. 
  • With the hike, the smaller Avenger Street 160 has crossed the Rs 1 lakh barrier. But despite this, it is still the most affordable cruiser available in the country.
  • Apart from the price hike, no other changes have been made to the bikes.
  • In the Indian market, the 155cc Suzuki Intruder is considered the core competitor of the Bajaj Avenger series. It is priced at Rs 1,22,327 (ex-showroom). At this price point, the Avenger Street 160 is Rs 21,047 more affordable than the Intruder, whereas the Bajaj Cruise 220 demands just Rs 303 more than this Suzuki offering. 

About Bajaj Avenger Street 160 & Cruise 220 Motorcycles

The Avenger Street 160 is powered by a 160.4cc single-cylinder, air-cooled, fuel-injected engine that churns out 15PS of maximum power and 13.7Nm of peak torque. The engine comes mated to a 5-speed gearbox. The Street 160 is available only in a single variant and get features such as a low-slung seat, forward-set footpegs, raised handlebars, a raked-out front-end, alloy wheels, front disc brake with single-channel ABS unit, circular semi-digital instrument cluster that houses an analogue speedometer and a digital display that shows trip meter & odometer readings. It also gets a secondary instrumentation cluster on the fuel tank, which comprises a fuel gauge and several other tell-tale lights.

The bigger Cruise 220, on the other hand, has similar styling to the Street 160, but being a cruiser bike, it gets a large windshield, spoke rims, and a bigger 220cc engine with an oil cooling system, capable of producing a maximum output of 19.03PS/17.55Nm. In Bajaj family, it shares its powertrain with the Pulsar 220F.

As far as the features are concerned, the Bajaj Cruise 220 gets halogen headlamps, LED DRLs, lots of chrome elements, a large windshield, pillion backrest, 280mm front disc brake with single-channel ABS, and a fully-digital instrument cluster which comprises an odometer, speedometer, a trip meter, clock, fuel gauge, and service due reminder. The secondary panel on the fuel tank incorporates several telltale/warning lights.
