KTM 250 Adventure Has Arrived In India

The Austrian bike manufacturer, KTM has finally brought the 250 Adventurer to our shore. It is priced at Rs 2.48 lakh (ex-showroom Pan-India). At this price point, it sits between Royal Enfield HimalayanBMW G 310 GS.

The KTM 250 Adventure looks similar to its elder sibling, the 390 Adventure. It carries all the design bits from the 390 ADV except for the all-LED headlamps and TFT instrumentation display. Instead of that, the baby ADV features a halogen unit and an LCD screen. The dimensions, as well as the underpinnings of the bike, are also similar to the 390 ADV, which comprises a trellis frame, 43mm WP USD front forks (travel-170mm), and pre-adjustable WP Apex Monoshock preload adjustment (travel-177mm) at the rear, while the ground clearance is 200mm. The saddle height stands at 855mm.

On the other hand, the bike sports Bybre braking units of 320mm disc at the front and a 230mm disc at the rear with dual-channel ABS, ensuring the willful stopping bite. The mini ADV also gets a dedicated off-roading mode, which enables its go-anywhere capability. However, unlike the Metzeler rubber on the 390 ADV, the 250 ADV gets MRF MoGrip Meteor off-road tires shod on 19-/17-inch alloy wheels. It doesn’t get a traction control system.

The KTM 250 ADV has a fuel tank capacity of 14.5 liters, and the brand claims a riding range of over 400km on a full tank.

KTM 250 Adventure: Engine

The KTM 250 Adventurer is powered by the 250 Duke's 249cc single-cylinder and liquid-cooled engine that puts out a 30PS of maximum power and 24Nm of peak torque. The engine comes paired with a 6-speed gearbox and a slipper clutch but misses out on a quickshifter.

Author's Take

KTM bikes are known for their superior performance, and we hope Baby Adventure has inherited that boon as well. But knowing the fact that it lacks a lot of features compared to the 390 adventure, it seems a little overpriced.
