After looking at the picture of the central console tunnel, you will find that there is a dial (near the cupholders) to control the infotainment system. It will also get an electronic parking brake feature, whose controls are given near the gear lever. Apart from this, the manual AC control units of the SUV looks similar to the new Thar while the leather-wrapped flat-bottom steering wheel has a distinct design from all the existing Mahindra cars.

Besides all these above-mentioned features, the 2021 Mahindra XUV500 will also get radar-based level-1 autonomous safety features such as autonomous emergency braking system, drowsy driver detection system, blindspot detection, lane keep assist, cross-traffic alert and attention detection, etc. You can read it here

Expected Powertrain

The new XUV500 is likely to get a 2.0-liter mStallion turbo petrol and a 2.2-liter mHAWK turbo diesel unit. Both the engines are also available with the all-new Thar but the XUV500 is expected to get these motors with better tunning. Both these engines are expected to get a 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic transmission option.

Expected Price and Launch

Next-gen Mahindra XUV500 is likely to be launched in the first quarter of 2021. Its starting price would be close to the current model, which ranges between Rs 13.57 lakh and 19.30 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). Once launched, it will continue to compete with the likes of the MG Hector Plus, Jeep Compass, Tata Harrier, and the upcoming Tata Gravitas.
