Honda CR-V To Get Special Edition Soon, Details Out

Honda Cars India will soon launch the special edition version of the CR-V SUV, might be in the first week of November. It could be based on the facelift version of CR-V which is on sale globally. Only 45 units of the CR-V Special Edition will be offered in India, so if you are eyeing one then you have to be very quick to grab the deal.

Honda CR-V Special Edition – How it will be different from the other variants?

As mentioned above, the CR-V special edition is likely to be based on the facelift version. Hence, it will feature an updated glossy black front grille which merges into the blacked-out headlamps. The front & rear bumpers will also be redesigned to give the car a refreshing look. Honda could also introduce a new alloy wheels design with special edition.

Inside, the interior layout is likely to be the same as the current model. But it is expected to get some additional features such as front parking sensors, powered tailgate, auto-folding ORVMs, cornering function for the fog lamps, and a powered front co-passenger seat. 

Apart from this, it will continue to get features of the standard model, which mainly includes automatic LED headlamps, rain-sensing wipers, 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, digital instrument cluster, ambient lighting, panoramic sunroof, dual-zone climate control, powered driver’s seat, auto-dimming IRVM, digital instrument cluster, remote engine start, and push start/stop button.

On the other hand, the safety kit will comprise 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, ISOFIX child seat anchors, vehicle stability assist, agile handling assist, hill launch assist, electronic parking brake with auto hold, walk away auto-lock,  driver attention monitor, parking camera, Lane Watch camera, etc. 

Engine

The upcoming Honda CR-V Special Edition is likely to get the same 2.0-liter petrol engine as the standard model, which develops 154PS of maximum power and 189Nm of peak torque.  Transmission duties will be handled by a CVT automatic unit only. It won't get the manual gearbox option like the standard model.

Expected Price

Currently, the Honda CR-V is priced at Rs 28.27 lakh (ex-showroom). Its special edition is likely to command a premium over Rs 1 lakh. In the Indian market, the CR-V goes up against the Hyundai Tucson, and Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace.
