BMW G 310 R And G 310 GS BS6 Launched With A Huge Price Cut

BMW Motorrad has launched the BS6 version of its most affordable bikes in India, the G 310 R and G 310 GS at Rs 2.45 lakh, and Rs 2.85 lakh (ex-showroom) respectively.

Bookings for the bikes are already opened for a token amount of Rs 50,000. The German manufacturers have also introduced a low-cost EMI scheme for both the bikes.

BMW G 310 R and G 310 GS – The Price Cut

Ex-showroom Delhi Prices BS4 Price (Old Price) BS6 Price (New Price) Difference
BMW G 310 R Rs 2.99 lakh Rs 2.45 lakh -Rs 54,000
BMW G 310 GS Rs 3.49 lakh Rs 2.85 lakh -Rs 64,000

As the above table indicates, the BMW Motorrad has slashed the prices of both the bikes by up to Rs 64,000, compared to its BS4 version, knowing the fact that the originally launched prices were not as par with its competition. With this bold step, both the bikes have become more affordable than its main rivals: KTM 390 Duke and KTM 390 Adventure.

With the BS6 transition, both bikes get some new updates in the form of new paint scheme/colours, a new LED lighting system and some minor design changes. For instance, the G 310R is available in three colour options– blue and white, black and white, and ‘Style Sport’ three-tone scheme, comprising black, white and red colours. It also features different finishing on the engine and adjustable brake & clutch levers, etc.

On the other hand, the BMW G 310 GS gets a new 'Style Rallye' paint scheme option, featuring a black colour base with contrasting red & blue paint job. The brand is also offering the G 310 GS in the special '40 years GS' paint scheme. Like the 310R, it also gets new adjustable brake and clutch levers for better ergonomic purpose.

There are no changes to the underpinnings of both the motorcycles. They continue to house the same suspension and braking setup as before. Both motorcycles come equipped with golden USD forks at the front and a preload-adjustable monoshock at the rear. However, the suspension travel differs. A 300mm front disc and 240mm rear disc brakes with dual-channel ABS bring the bikes to halt.

Engine

The Bavarian twins are powered by the BS6 compliant, 313cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine, paired to a 6-speed transmission. It generates 34PS at 9,500rpm and 28Nm at 7,500rpm as before. However, the introduction of the slip-and-assist clutch (for lighter clutch action), ride-by-wire tech (for solid fueling and throttle response) and GTT (Glide Through Traffic) come as a welcome change.

Warranty

Both BMW offering is available with a standard warranty of 3 years or unlimited kilometres. The first 500 customers can also get an extended warranty package of two years at an exclusive price of Rs. 5,499.
