The 6-speed torque converter gearbox is mated to the same motor seen in manual variants. So you get the 2.2-liter mHAWK diesel engine that produces 155PS and an exciting 360Nm of peak torque. Unlike the BS4 version, the BS6 XUV500 still misses an all-wheel drivetrain option.

In terms of pricing, the Mahindra XUV500 locks horns with the Tata Harrier, Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Jeep Compass, and MG Hector. Its direct competitor Tata Hexa has yet to be upgraded on BS6 emission norms and Hector Plus with its three-row arrangement can be considered XUV500's straight rival.
