The S Cross also get the same 1.5-litre petrol engine which also powers many other Maruti Suzuki cars including Ciaz, Ertiga and Vitara Brezza. However, S Cross gets the mild-hybrid technology with both the manual and automatic gearbox, while the Vitara Brezza features hybrid system with only automatic transmission.

What features does it get?

As far as the features are concerned, it gets an updated 7.0-inch Smartplay Studio touchscreen infotainment which also supports cloud connectivity. Apart from this, it gets the same set of equipment as the previous model which includes LED projector headlamps, alloy wheels of 16-inches, cruise control, automatic climate control, rain-sensing wipers, engine start/stop system, steering mounted controls, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay smartphone connectivity.

For passenger safety, it gets dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors and a reverse camera.

Rivals

In the crossover segment, the Maruti Suzuki Nexa S-cross doesn't have any direct competitor. But in terms of price, its competition can be considered against five-seater compact SUVs like Kia Seltos, Hyundai Creta, Nissan Kicks and Renault Duster.

Author' Take

The new Maruti S Cross is now available with both manual and automatic gearboxes. Its price has also come down significantly compared to its previous diesel model which is a good thing. But it still lacks many features compared to its rivals that mainly includes connected car technology.
