6-seater Vs 7-seater Hector Plus

  • Design-wise both the 6- & 7-seater variants look similar. The only difference lies between the seating layout. The new 7-seater model gets a bench-type seat for three passengers in 2nd row, whereas the 6-seater variants offer two captain seats in the middle row.
  • Super (diesel) and Smart (diesel) are the only two common variants between the 6 & 7-seater models of Hector Plus. The 7-seater is up to Rs 24,000 more affordable than the 6-seater.

MG Hector Plus – Features

Like the newly launched facelift version of 5-seater MG Hector, the three-row Hector Plus also gets new dual-tone 18-inch alloy wheels, wireless phone charger, and ventilated front seats. However, the cabin continues to wear a dual-tone tan & black statement, whereas the new 5-seater model gets the new black-cream colour theme. The Hinglish voice commands for the connected car tech have also been given a miss in Hector Plus.

Apar from these added equipment, the Hector Plus continues to get features like 10.4-inch vertical touchscreen infotainment, iSmart connected car technology, semi-digital instrument cluster, powered front seats, panoramic sunroof, heated ORVMs, powered tailgate with kick-to-open function, 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, brake assist, ESC, 360-degree parking camera, front & rear parking sensors, tyre-pressure monitoring system, and many more.

Powertrain

The Hector Plus continues to use the same 2.0-litre diesel (170PS/350Nm), 1.5-litre petrol (143PS/250Nm), and 1.5-litre petrol-hybrid (143PS/250Nm) engines. While the 7-seater model only comes with a 6-speed manual gearbox with all the engine options, the 6-seater model also gets dual-clutch automatic transmission (DCT) choice with the non-hybrid petrol variants.

Rivals

With the introduction of the 7-seater model, the Hector Plus has become a more strong competitor of Mahindra XUV500. Soon the all-new Tata Safari (Gravitas) will also join the tribe. The Hector Plus can also be considered as an SUV alternative to the Toyota Innova Crysta MPV.
