In a surprising move, Tata Motors has unveiled the 2026 Punch facelift through official images ahead of its launch on January 13, 2026. It is the first major update for this micro-SUV since its arrival in 2021.
2026 Tata Punch – What’s New?
Exterior
- For 2026, Tata Motors has updated the Punch with significant design changes, especially at the front & rear end.
- Upfront, the tiny urban utility vehicle takes some inspiration from the Punch EV and Altroz, featuring slimmer LED DRLs and a sleek black grille.
- The headlamps are now LED and housed in a sharp, reverse triangular-like housing.
- The bumper is predominantly finished in black cladding, giving the SUV a bold appearance. Furthermore, a silver skid plate rounds off the overall aggressive appearance.

- Things remain largely unchanged on the sides, save for the new 16-inch alloy wheels.
- Towards the rear, the SUV gets a slightly revamped tailgate, along with new connected LED tail lamps and a restyled rear bumper.
Interior and New Amenities
Changes on the inside are evolutionary rather than revolutionary. Having said that, the dashboard layout remains largely unchanged; however, it now gets a larger 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with slimmer bezels, a new 2-spoke steering wheel with illuminated Tata logo, touch-based AC control panel, and a 7-inch fully digital driver’s display.

It also gets new grey and blue seat upholstery, a 360-degree camera, six airbags as standard fitment and hill descent assist.
Other Features
Aside from the above-mentioned additions, the Punch retains all the features of the outgoing model, including auto AC, rear AC vents, wireless smartphone charger, a single-pane electric sunroof, connected car tech, cruise control, height-adjustable driver seat, keyless entry with puch button start/stop, tyre pressure monitoring system, ISOFIX child seat anchors, traction control, hill hold assist, ESC and much more.
New Turbocharged Engine
Another significant addition comes underneath the hood in the form of a more powerful 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine from the Tata Altroz Racer, paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox. It will be offered alongside the existing 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol and CNG powertrain options.

2026 Tata Punch Price and Rivals
Tata will announce the prices of the Punch facelift on January 13, 2026. We expect it to command a premium of around Rs 50,000 over the outgoing model, which currently retails between Rs 5.50 – 9.30 lakh (ex-showroom). Once launched, the SUV will continue its rivaly against the likes of Hyundai Exter, Citroen C3, and select variants of Maruti Fronx and Nissan Magnite.
