The long-awaited 3-door Mahindra Thar facelift is all set to go on sale in the first week of October 2025. Although Mahindra has yet to share any details about the upgraded Thar, the upcoming off-roader will feature numerous exciting changes and new additions, some of which have been revealed through spy shots.
2025 Mahindra Thar Facelift (3 Door): Key Changes
- Starting with the interior, the facelifted Thar will borrow many elements from the larger Thar Roxx, including a 3-spoke electric power steering wheel instead of the current hydraulic unit and a larger 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, which supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone integration.

- It also gets a wireless charger, a front centre armrest, A-pillars mounted grab handles, and a reverse parking camera.
- Mahindra has also repositioned the power window switches from the centre console to the doors.
- On the exterior, the new 3-door Thar will sport a new grille, along with a revised lighting setup.
- It is also expected to get redesigned alloy wheels for higher-spec trims.

No Mechanical Changes
Underneath the bonnet, the 2025 Thar is likely to retain all the engine options as the current model, which includes a 119HP 1.5-litre turbo-diesel, a 152HP 2-litre turbo-petrol and a 132HP 2.2-litre turbo-diesel.
A 6-speed manual transmission is standard for all engines, with the petrol and the bigger displacement diesel mills additionally getting a 6-speed torque converter automatic unit. Adding to it, the high-spec petrol and diesel variants will also get a 4-wheel drivetrain.

Expected Price
Post GST cuts, the current version of the Mahindra Thar 3-door is priced between Rs 10.31 lakh and Rs 16.60 lakh (ex-showroom). Its upgraded model is expected to be priced in a similar ballpark, with a slight increment.
