2022 Suzuki Katana Is Finally Here – Price, Specs, Images

Recently updated for the Japanese market, the Suzuki Katana has also made its way to our shores at Rs 13,61,000 (ex-showroom, Delhi). First showcased at the 2022 Auto Expo in India, this is a 1000cc premium neo-retro bike that goes up against the BMW S 1000 R and the Kawasaki Z1000.

The Suzuki Katana is powered by a 999cc, inline-four, liquid-cooled, DOHC, 4 valve engine that belts out a max power of 152PS at 11,000rpm and a peak torque of 106Nm at 9250rpm, mated to a 6-speed gearbox with assist-&-slipper clutch and bi-directional quick shifter. The bike also gets Suzuki’s Intelligent Ride System (S.I.R.S.) which comprises a 5-stage traction control system, Suzuki Drive Mode Selector (three riding modes), ride-by-wire throttle, low rpm assist (reduces engine stalling), and Suzuki’s Easy Start System.

For suspension duties, the Japanese bikemaker has equipped the Katana with a KYB USD fork up front and a mono-shock at the rear, both offering compression, rebound, and preload adjustability. Braking duties are taken care of by twin 310mm discs with Brembo radial front calipers and a single disc at the rear.

Suzuki Katana colors

Design-wise, the Suzuki Katana looks very unique with its chiseled nose, squarish LED headlamp, brawny fuel tank, and short tail. It also gets a blacked-out upswept exhaust, golden forks, and an LCD instrument console with daylight and night modes. The manufacturer also offers multiple accessories with the bike such as a carbon design tank pad, fuel cap sticker, and side protection foil.

Suzuki offers the Katana in two colors in India: Metallic Matte Stellar Blue and Metallic Mystic Silver.
