2022 Maruti Suzuki Ertiga Likely To Launch Before New XL6

  • The new Ertiga is expected to hit the showrooms before the facelifted XL6.
  • Will receive minor visual changes.
  • It could also get a more fuel-efficient 1.5-litre petrol engine with a new 6-speed automatic transmission.

Maruti Suzuki is likely to launch the upgraded Ertiga by mid-April, a few days (or maybe weeks) before the facelifted XL6, which is expected to arrive by the end of this month.

2022 Maruti Ertiga – What’s New?

  • Revealed by the multiple spy shots, the facelifted Maruti Suzuki Ertiga MPV will receive minor cosmetic changes such as a revived mesh-pattern grille (similar to the 2022 Baleno), and a new tail lamp connecting element.
  • While the interior of the upgraded model is yet to be seen, it could get an updated infotainment system, along with a few new comfort & convenience features.
  • The biggest change could lie beneath the hood. The new Ertiga is expected to get a new & more efficient 1.5-liter petrol engine, paired with manual and automatic options. However, the brand could replace its aged 4-speed torque converter with a new 6-speed unit.

Prices to go up

Considering all the above-mentioned changes, the 2022 Maruti Ertiga will undoubtedly command a significant price premium over the ongoing model, which retails from Rs 8.12 lakh to Rs 10.85 lakh (ex-showroom, India).

In other news, Maruti Suzuki is also planning to introduce Baleno CNG and new-gen Vitara Brezza by mid-2022. The carmaker could also update its S-Presso and Ignis with new DualJet engines. Apart from this, Maruti is also developing a new mid-size SUV with Toyota that will rub its shoulder against the Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos.
