The 2022 Mahindra Scorpio has been spied testing numerous times, but the latest spy images reveal that the upgraded SUV will get a 130PS diesel engine with a manual gearbox and a 2-wheel-drivetrain (probably rear-wheel drive).
For those who aren’t aware, the second-generation Mahindra Thar comes with the 130PS 2.2-liter mHawk diesel engine, and the new Scorpio is also expected to get the same. However, going by the Scorpio’s existing model, which comes in two states of tune (120PS and 140PS), this 130PS diesel-manual powertrain option could be limited to the new Scorpio’s lower-spec trims, and the higher-spec diesel variants are expected to be tuned to deliver 155PS of maximum power as the XUV700’s MX trim. Besides, it could also get a 2.0-liter turbo-petrol engine like the Thar and XUV700.
