2021 Volkswagen Taigun – Which Variant To Buy?

The Volkswagen Taigun 5-seater SUV has just been launched at an introductory price range of Rs 10.49 lakh to Rs 17.49 lakh (ex-showroom). Similar to its sibling rival Skoda Kushaq, it is offered with two turbocharged petrol engines: a 1.0-litre TSI and 1.5-litre TSI, both mated to a 6-speed manual or their individual automatic transmission options. It is available in a total of five variants: Comfortline, Highline, Topline, GT, and GT Plus. The last two trims are only available with the bigger capacity motor.   • Safety: – Hill start assist (AT only), reversing camera with static guidelines, rear defogger, rear wiper & washer. 

Conclusion – While the Taigun Highline variant commands a high premium, it adds the convenience of height-adjustable driver’s seat, cornering lights, wireless smartphone integration support along with wireless and wired charging facilities, rear camera, rear wiper & washer, and much more. For these striking additions, we’d suggest you to shelling out the extra cash. 

3. Volkswagen Taigun Topline

1.0-litre TSI Manual Automatic Premium
Topline Rs 14.56 lakh Rs 15.90 lakh up to Rs 1.81 (over previous trim)

Conclusion – The top-spec GT Plus variant of the Taigun only comes with a 7-step DSG automatic gearbox, which is good for enthusiast buyers. However, it would have been better if VW had provided this variant with a manual gearbox too.
