2021 Tata Safari Connected Car Features Leaked

Tata Motors has officially released the images of the all-new Safari SUV last week. It will be launched on 26th January 2021, but before that, SUV’s iRA connected car features and telematics have been leaked. While this is not the first time a Tata car is getting this feature, Safari's connected technology features will certainly be more advanced.

According to the reports, the connected features of Tata Safari will be divided in to five categories: Safety & Security, Remote Commands, Alerts & Notification, Over the Air updates and Health check. It will also get the natural voice command support and 'What 3 Word' function. The notable iRA features include: –

  • View trip details and provide Drive pattern analytics with Driver Score

  • Remote Horn

  • Idle alert
  • Panic notification

The iRA connected techs will come with a free-subscription of 1 year from the date of purchase. Apart from the iRA connected tech and the existing set of features of Harrier SUV, the 2021 Safari could also get electronic parking brakes, wireless charging pad, front parking sensors, etc. It will also sport a dual-tone Oyster White-Black interior theme with ash-wood inserts as seen on the Gravitas

Under the hood, the upcoming Tata Safari will house Harrier's 2.0-litre Kryotec turbo-diesel engine (170PS/350Nm) with 6-speed manual and 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission options. A 4WD drivetrain and petrol engine options will be introduced in later stage.

The 2021 Tata Safari is expected to come in four variants – XE, XM, XT and XZ, which are likely to be retailed at a premium of around Rs 1 lakh over the Harrier. It will be offered in both 6-and 7-seater configurations.

Unofficial pre-launch bookings of the car have already been started at Rs 51,000. In the mid-size SUV segment, the Tata Safari will lock horn with the MG Hector PlusMahindra XUV500, and the upcoming three-row version of Hyundai Creta.
