2021 Kia Stinger Facelift Revealed Globally

Kia revealed the facelift version of their premium sports sedan,The stinger. It will be launched in the South Korean markets later this year. Kia has always kept us keen with their well thought upon products, and the Stinger is no exception. It grabs eyeballs with its design and also provides great performance at a string price. The facelift brings about some basic cosmetic changes along with some nuances in the cabin.

2021 Kia Stinger: The facelift

Design

The changes in Kia Stinger are very subtle ones. They are so minute that could be easily missed over a first glance. There are some slight tweaks to the headlamps and the ‘tiger’ grille on the front. On the rear, the spot which was earlier reserved for the Kia logo houses a name badging. Similarly, the nose has a different logo as well, the badging changes will only be limited to Korean markets though.

The alloy wheels are pretty much the only change along with the side profile and a pretty welcome one. The tail lamps have been re-profiled at the rear and the selective variants will offer a sportier rear diffuser and larger exhaust mufflers. The company has also rolled out the dark package( Black package in the US) with customized dark bits like the gloss black diffuser elements, wide-bore exhaust mufflers, darkened alloys, rear spoilers black finished wing mirrors and side skirts.

Interior

Talking about the interior the most noticeable change is the new 10.25-inch infotainment system. There have also been minor cosmetic updates like a frameless mirror and revised material finish on surfaces. The ambient lighting system has been upgraded to 64 color configurations and customers could now choose from a wider range of upholstery options.

There has been no announcement regarding the engine but its very probable that it will carry the same 3.3-litre, V6, and 2.5-litre turbocharged petrol motor. Both engines will be mated to an automatic transmission.

Is it coming to India?

The information on whether we would see the Stinger in India is not clear. Kia did showcase the vehicles in some car shows. But there is no confirmation on when (if recently) you would get to see the Stinger on Indian roads. In my opinion, the new Kia Stinger is unlikely to come to our shore any time soon.
