Honda BigWing India, the premium arm of Honda two-wheelers has recently teased the upcoming iteration of the Gold Wing on its social media, indicating at its Imminent launch. The previous model of the Gold Wing was discontinued in April 2020, with the beginning of the BS6 emission era.

For those who aren't aware, the Gold Wing is Honda’s flagship luxury tourer motorcycle. Offered in five variants (Standard, Automatic DCT, Tour, Tour Automatic DCT and Tour Airbag Automatic DCT) in international markets, the latest iteration of Global Wing had received several updates in early 2021 including the new Pearl Deep Mud Grey colour scheme with an orange accent, new & lighter audio system of 55-watt, unique comfort seats for rider & pillion, and 11 litres of additional storage space.
Features on offer include a 7-inch colour TFT display with Android Auto & Apple CarPlay smartphone integration (through a Type-C USB cable), Throttle-By-Wire technology, four-rider modes (TOUR, SPORT, ECON & RAIN), Hill-Start Assist (HSA), cruise control, LED lighting system, Smart Key (enables for the keyless opening of panniers and trunk) and an airbag as well. The DCT-equipped version, on the other hand, also gets idling Start/Stop function and “Walking Mode", which lets riders creep it forward under power at a walking pace.
The heart of the Honda's flagship tourer is a 1,833cc 24-valve horizontally-opposed flat-six engine (over 13 pounds lighter than the previous generation) that belts out 126.44PS of max power at 5,500rpm and a peak torque of 170Nm at 4,500rpm. Transmission options include a 6-speed manual transmission (with slipper-&-assist clutch) and a 7-speed DCT automatic with electric reverse gear.

Expect the new Honda Gold Wing to be priced at a premium of around Rs 1 lakh over the BS4 model, which was rated at Rs 26.85 lakh (ex-showroom) before its discontinuation.
