2021 Honda Gold Wing Launched In India At Rs 37.20 Lakh

The Honda BigWing India has launched the 2021 iteration of its flagship tourer motorcycle, the Gold Wing, at a starting price of Rs 37,20,342 (ex-showroom Gurugram), making it approximately Rs 10 lakh more expensive than its BS4 model. It will only be available in a single Tour variant in India, which will be offered with either a manual or a DCT automatic transmission. Buyers eyeing the DCT trim will have to spend Rs 1,042,87 extra over the manual model, and it will also get an airbag for the rider's safety.

2021 Honda Gold Wing – What's New? 

Unveiled earlier this year, the 2021 Honda Gold Wing gets some new paint schemes (depending on the variant), a new & lighter 55-watt audio system for better & crisper sound, unique comfort seats for riders & pillion, and 11 liters of additional storage space.

2021 Honda Gold Wing – Powertrain & Underpinnings

Powering the Honda Gold Wing is the same 1,833cc 24-valve liquid-cooled horizontally-opposed flat six-cylinder engine (over 13 pounds lighter than the previous generation) as the previous model that belts out 126.44PS of max power at 5,500rpm and a peak torque of 170Nm at 4,500rpm. As mentioned above, the transmission options include a 6-speed manual transmission (with slipper-&-assist clutch) and a 7-speed DCT automatic with electric reverse gear. It is capable of delivering a fuel economy of around 42 miles/gallon (approximately 17.85kmpl).

The power mill is placed in a diecast aluminium twin-spar frame, hung on the double-wishbone front suspension and a monoshock (with four electronically adjustable preload settings) at the rear, mounted to the single-sided swingarm. Shedding speed on the new Honda Gold Wing is a pair of 320mm front discs with 6-piston calipers and a 316mm disc at the rear paired with three-piston calipers, assisted by a dual-channel Antilock Braking System (ABS). 

The bike tips the scales at 357kg and has a fuel tank capacity of 21-liters. The seat height of this Japanese tourer is as low as 745mm, which is ideal for a bike of this segment. 

2021 Honda Gold Wing – Features

The Gold Wing Tour continues to get a long list of premium features such as a 7-inch full-color TFT display with Android Auto & Apple CarPlay smartphone integration support (through a Type-C USB cable), all-LED lighting system, Throttle-By-Wire technology, four-rider modes (TOUR, SPORT, ECON & RAIN), Hill-Start Assist (HSA), cruise control, self-cancelling indicators, heated seats & grips, Smart Key (enables for the keyless opening of panniers and trunk), and a top box at the rear. The DCT-equipped version, on the other hand, also gets an airbag, idling Start/Stop function, and “Walking Mode", which lets riders creep it forward under power at a walking pace. 

2021 Honda Gold Wing – Color Options

The Indian-spec Gold Wing gets two color options: Pearl Glare White for the manual variant and Gunmetal Black Metallic/Matt Morion Black for the DCT trim.
