2021 Force Gurkha Could Get More Seating Options In Near Future

Revealed by a recently leaked RTO document, the Force Gurkha could get more practical 6-and 8-seating options in the near future. As of now, the off-roader comes in a 3-door body style and a four-seater layout, featuring two captain seats in the second row. However, buyers can install side-facing seats (available as an accessory) in the boot for extra occupancy.

To jog your memory, the previous iteration of the Gurkha was available in both 3-and 5-door configurations and had a range of 4 to 9-seating options. So, if Force launches the 6-and 8-seater Gurkha then it is expected to come in a 5-door body style. With this, it will become the first BS6 off-roader under Rs 15 lakh to come in a 5-door layout. Its closest rival Mahindra Thar could also come in the 5-door version in 2023.

Besides the above-mentioned additions, we expect don't expect any other changes. It will continue to retain its Mercedes-derived 2.6-liter diesel engine (90PS/260Nm), paired with a 5-speed manual transmission along with a 4×4 drivetrain with a low-range transfer case to help the SUV to conquer tricky terrains.

Features onboard will continue to include LED headlamps with DRLs, LED log lamps, an aftermarket 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a four-speaker sound system, manual AC, front power windows, power steering wheel, and much more. Safety features include dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, tire pressure monitoring, and front & rear roll bars.

Currently, the Force Gurkha off-roader is priced at Rs 13.59 lakh (ex-showroom) and rivals the Mahindra Thar and the upcoming Maruti Suzuki Jimny
