Toyota Innova Crysta Back With Diesel Powertrain; Bookings Open

  • Can be booked for a token amount of Rs 50,000.
  • Continue to be available in four variants: G, Gx, Vx, and Zx.
  • Gets minor cosmetic changes.
  • Prices will be announced in the coming weeks.

After taking a small break from the Indian market, the Toyota Innova Crysta is back again on sale. You can now put your name down for this MPV as the carmaker has commenced its bookings for the token amount of Rs 50,000. However, it will now only be available in the diesel-manual guise.

Continue to be available in four variants (G, Gx, Vx, and Zx), the Innova Crysta retained its 2.4-litre, 4-cylinder diesel engine that was rated at 150PS and 343Nm. However, it can be retuned for the updated model. It comes mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox and loses the 6-speed torque converter automatic unit. Innova’s 2.7-litre petrol engine has also been discontinued, and the hybrid Innova Hycross is your only option if you want petrol power.

Refreshed Exterior

With the return of the Toyota Innova Crysta in 2023, the front fascia has also been restyled for a bolder appearance. There’s no doubt that design changes are at the forefront. The latest Innova Crysta features a squarer grille with plenty of chrome touches. To add some bling, the bumper has been given a dash of chrome as well. As for the rest of the exterior, it is pretty much like the outgoing model.

On board the Toyota Innova Crysta, you’ll see an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, automatic climate control with rear AC vents, ambient lighting, an 8-way power adjustable driver’s seat, keyless entry with push button start, power adjustable ORVMs, multi-function steering wheel, up to seven airbags, front & rear parking sensors, vehicle stability control, hill assist, and much more.

Toyota will soon reveal the prices of the 2023 Innova Crysta diesel, which are expected to command a slight premium over the outgoing mode. We anticipate its prices to start from around Rs 20 lakh (ex-showroom). It will continue to be positioned as an affordable alternative to the Kia Carnival.
