Tata Nexon CNG Could Be Reality Soon

Soon after launching the CNG iterations of the Tiago and Tigor duo, Tata Motors is now gearing up for its next big eco-friendly vehicle in the form of Nexon CNG. Recently, the sub-4m SUV was spied testing in Pune. The car was seen coming out of a CNG-filling station. If Tata launches the Nexon with CNG, then it will become the only SUV to come in petrol, diesel, electric, and CNG powertrains.

Currently, the ICE-version of Tata Nexon comes with the 1.2-litre turbo-petrol (120PS/170Nm) and 1.5-litre turbocharged diesel (110PS/260Nm). Both can be had with either a 6-speed manual gearbox or a 6-speed AMT.

In other developments, the homegrown carmaker is also working on the facelifted Nexon EV that will come with some significant cosmetic updates, new features, and larger battery packs with an improved range. Besides, the brand will also introduce Punch CNG, Altroz EV, and Altroz Automatic sometime this year. Furthermore, Tata’s flagship Harrier and Safari SUVs could also receive a new in-house developed 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine.
