Tata Motors Introduced New XPRES Brand To Target Fleet Customers

India's leading car manufacturer, Tata Motors has launched a new 'XPRES' sub-brand exclusively for fleet customers. Under this trademark, Tata will only introduce specific products catering to the needs of fleet operators, including safety, passenger comfort, and low cost of ownership. All vehicles under this sub-brand will feature an XPRES badging to distinguish them from Tata's 'New Forever' range of vehicles.

New Tata Tigor EV

The homegrown maker has also announced that they will soon launch the first product under the XPRES brand that will be an electric sedan named ‘XPRES-T’ EV. It is basically a facelifted version of the Tigor EV.

As we have earlier reported, the X Pres-T EV is likely to be offered in two levels of trims – Standard and Extended. The Standard trim will feature a 16.2kWh battery pack that was earlier offered with the older Tigor EV when it was launched first. It is claimed to deliver an ARAI tested range of 165km against the 143km on the outgoing Tigor EV. On the other hand, the Extended variant will receive a 21.5kWh battery pack as the existing Tigor EV that offers an ARAI-tested range of 213km on a single charge. The batteries can be recharged to 0-80% in 90 minutes and 110 minutes respectively, using a fast charger.

It is expected to be powered by the ongoing 72V 3-phase AC induction motor, which is capable of churning out 41PS of max power and 105Nm of peak torque. The car will be equipped with a single-speed automatic transmission.

Tata XPRES-T launch date

To differentiate its appearance from other Tata cars, the XPRES-T will come with a black interior with blue color accents both inside and outside. It will get features like steel wheels with covers, automatic climate control, dual-front airbags, ABS with EBD, and rear parking sensors.

What is Tata XPRES

Announcing the launch of the XPRES brand, Mr. Shailesh Chandra, President, Passenger Vehicle Business Unit, Tata Motors said-

"We are delighted to launch the Xpres brand which will introduce smarter, future-ready mobility solutions to cater to the special needs of all fleet customers – government, corporates, and mobility services. Electric Vehicles deliver a very low cost of ownership, with minimal maintenance, at the same time offer a very comfortable and pleasant drive. This makes them an ideal choice for intra-city mobility services. Tata Motors, remains deeply committed to supporting the Government’s emphasis on green mobility. Currently, we have over 1,700 electric sedans successfully operating in the fleet segment. The launch of our forthcoming ‘XPRES-T’ EV Sedan, will create a new benchmark for urban shared mobility and will include a comprehensive captive charging solution provided by our partner, Tata Power. This will enable higher utilization and increased income for our fleet customers.”
