There's nothing new that Maruti Suzuki will soon bring the next-generation version of Vitara Brezza to our shores. While the brand is yet to share its launch timeline, the sub-4m SUV has been spotted completely undisguised for the first time, providing us a clear view of its new design.

The 2022 Maruti Vitara Brezza gets a new & larger chrome grille at the front, flanked by redesigned dual-barrel projector headlamps with integrated LED daytime running lamps. These DRLs are expected to double up as turn indicators. The new fog lamps sit lower down in the refreshed X-shaped dual-tone bumper that also features a silver skid plate. Keen eyes may also notice a bulge under the left ORVM, suggesting that it will feature side cameras, perhaps for lane watch assistant or it could be a part of the 360-surround view system.
While the overall silhouette of the SUV looks largely unchanged, it is likely to get redesigned alloy wheels. The leaked video also confirms the presence of a single-pane electric sunroof, a first for the brand in its entire product portfolio.
Move over to the rear and you’ll see a completely overhauled profile, featuring newly designed LED taillamps with 'B R E Z Z A' inscription between them. The rear bumper with the black cladding and silver skid plate livens things up with a brawny appearance.

What's more interesting is that Maruti Suzuki has also modernized the interior of the new Vitara Brezza. It will now feature a distinct dashboard layout with a floating touchscreen infotainment system (probably of 8-inches) taking the centre stage. It also gets a sporty-styled steering wheel (borrowed from the Swift) with paddle shifters and a revamped instrument cluster with bigger dials and a colored multi-info display (MID).
Expect the 2022 Vitara Brezza to be packed with features like cruise control, leather upholstery, a 360-degree camera, automatic climate control with rear AC vents, multiple airbags, and more.
As far as engine options are concerned, the next-gen Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza is likely to retain its ongoing 105PS 1.5-liter petrol engine. But considering the fact that it will receive paddle shifters, we believe the brand could offer a more sophisticated automatic transmission option, replacing the ongoing 4-speed torque converter unit. Besides, it could also get a CNG powertrain, mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox only.
Expect the updated Vitara Brezza to command a significant price premium over the ongoing model that retails from Rs 7.61 lakh to Rs 11.19 lakh (ex-showroom). Once launched, it will emerge as a more competitive offering against the Tata Nexon, Kia Sonet, Hyundai Venue, Nissan Magnite, Renault Kiger, Mahindra XUV700, Toyota Urban Cruiser, and Honda WR-V.
