In the last story of MG Gloster, we named a few next-gen technology features that will be offered in Morris's upcoming full-size SUV. Now, the brand has released another featured video revealing it’s auto parking assist feature.
As the name suggests, Auto parking assist is the feature that allows the car to do parking automatically. It's like a robotic valet parking, however, you have to operate the brakes and drive selector as the system commands. But before that, you have to first find the parking spot and activate the function. This feature is very useful in parking the car in a tight spot without worrying about the steering maneuver.
2020 MG Gloster SUV: What does else the teaser reveal?
Apart from the auto parking assist function, it will also get captain seats in the middle row bolstering premium leatherette upholstery, three-zone climate control, floating touchscreen infotainment system, artificial intelligence, voice command, engine start/stop button, semi-digital instrument cluster with a color TFT display, ventilated front seats, 360-degree camera, LED lighting system with integrated DRLs, kick-to-open feature for the powered tailgate, dual-exit exhaust tips, a 4-wheel drivetrain, traction control, hill hold assist, hill descent control, etc.
It also comprises a soft-touch material on the dashboard to give it a premium appeal.
As per the previous teasers, it will also equip some advanced features like adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking with Collision avoidance system (segment-first), and e-sim internet connectivity.
What more do we know about MG Gloster?
MG Gloster is a rebadged version of the Maxus D90 (available in China). It was first showcased at the Auto Expo in February 2020. It is expected to be offered with a choice of a 2.0-liter turbocharged petrol engine (224PS/360Nm) and a 2.0-liter bi-turbo diesel engine (215PS/480Nm). Both engines are likely to be mated with an 8-speed ZF automatic transmission. The SUV could be offered in both 4×2 and 4×4 drivetrain options.
The MG Gloster is likely to be launched by Diwali 2020. Rivaling the Ford Endeavour, Toyota Fortuner, and Mahindra Alturas G4, Its pricing can possibly start somewhere around Rs 35 lakh (ex-showroom). It will be the longest car in its segment with a length of more than 5 meters.
