India's largest passenger vehicle manufacturer Maruti Suzuki has will increase the prices of its all models from January 2022 owing to the increased input costs. While the carmaker hasn't revealed the extent of the hikes, it will differ depending on the model. In January 2021, Maruti had inflated prices by up to Rs 34,000.

In an advanced intimation filling at Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), Sanjeev Grover, Vice President at Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL) has stated that – "Over the past year, the cost of Company's vehicles continue to be adversely impacted due to increase in various input costs. Therefore, it has become imperative for the Company to pass on some impact of the above additional costs to customers through a price hike. The price rise has been planned in January 2022. The increase shall vary for different models."

Maruti Suzuki is expected to launch a couple of new models in 2022, including facelifted Baleno, new-gen Vitara Brezza, 5-door Jimny off-roader, facelifted XL6, and CNG-powered Swift and Dzire.
