After updating the CNG variant lineup of Hyundai Aura last month, the Korean carmaker has now stepped up its game by offering a new feature-rich CNG variant of the Grand i10 Nios. That said, Hyundai has now offered the range-topping Grand i10 Nios Asta variant with the greener powertrain option. With this, the hatch has now three CNG variants in its lineup. As the above table indicates, the Sportz and Asta CNG variants command a premium of Rs 93,000 over their petrol-manual counterparts. On the other hand, the base-spec CNG trim of the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios is Rs 1.07 lakh more expensive than its petrol-only version.
The Asta CNG trim is Rs 76,000 pricier than the Sportz CNG variant.
Powering this highly popular hatchback is a 1.2-liter petrol engine coupled with a factory-fitted CNG kit that produces 69PS/95Nm when running on CNG and 83PS/114Nm in petrol mode.
All the CNG variants of Hyundai Grand i10 Nios only get a 5-speed manual gearbox, whereas the convenience of AMT is restricted to its petrol-only models.
It is claimed to offer a fuel efficiency (mileage) of 28km/kg.
As for comfort & convenience, the Asta CNG trims comes packed with a host of premium features such as projector headlamps, keyless entry with push button start, 15-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple Carplay and Android Auto, cooled glove box, wireless smartphone charger, auto AC with dedicated rear AC vents, dual front airbags, rear parking camera, and much more.
In the Indian market, it goes up against the Tata Tiago CNG that currently ranges between Rs 6.30 lakh to Rs 7.73 lakh (ex-showroom).
