Hyundai Exter Witnesses A Price Hike

Launched in July this year, Hyundai’s smallest SUV, the Exter, has gotten dearer by up to Rs 16,000. With this, its introductory prices have now come to an end.

  • With the prices of the base and top-spec variants remaining unchanged, the Hyundai Exter continues to price between Rs 6 lakh and Rs 10 lakh (ex-showroom).
  • The dual-tone version of the SX (O) Connect manual variant is the most affected by the price hike, followed by the SX AMT variant.
  • Customers seeking the Exter CNG will have to shell out Rs 9,000 more.

Hyundai Exter Engine Specifications

Powering the Hyundai Exter is a 1.2-litre, 4-cylinder petrol engine (83PS and 114Nm) that can be paired with either a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed AMT transmission.

It is also available with a factory-fitted CNG kit that produces a reduced output of 69PS/95Nm and comes mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox.

In the Indian market, the Hyundai Exter locks horns with the Tata Punch (Rs 6 – 10.10 lakh), Citroen C3 (Rs 6.16 – 8.80 lakh), and Maruti Suzuki Ignis (Rs 5.84 – 8.16 lakh).
