American motorcycle giant Harley Davidson has launched a small-capacity neo-retro roadster in China, the X350, at CNY 33,388 (around Rs 3.93 lakh). It has been developed in collaboration with Chinese bikemaker Qianjiang Motorcycle.
Harley Davidson X350 – Design and Features
The all-new Harley Davidson X350 is based on the Benelli 302S. The bike flaunts a sporty roadster design, with stunning angular edges flowing neatly into the sleek tail. However, its retro-styled teardrop-shaped tank is the real eye-catcher. It also sports LED lights all around and a single-pod instrument cluster. However, it misses out on Bluetooth connectivity.
The underpinnings of the Harley Davidson X350 comprise 41mm inverted front forks and an offset monoshock set-up. Anchoring duties are taken care of by disc brake setup at both ends, assisted by dual-channel Antilock Braking System (ABS). It rolls on 17-inch alloy wheels, shod with chunky 120-section front and 160-section rear Pirelli Angel ST tyres.
Tipping the scale at 195kg, the bike is quite heavy for its category. Furthermore, at 817mm, its saddle is also on the taller side.
Engine and Mileage
At the heart of the H-D X350 is a 353cc, liquid-cooled, fuel-injected, parallel-twin engine that produces a maximum power output of 36.7PS and a peak torque of 31Nm. It comes paired with a 6-speed gearbox and claims a fuel efficiency of 20.2kmpl.
Will it launch in India?
Harley-Davidson is unlikely to launch the X 350 in India. However, in collaboration with Hero MotoCorp, it is developing small-capacity motorcycles for the country.
