Launched in July this year, the 2023 Kia Seltos Facelift has garnered over 50,000 bookings in just two months. And interestingly, 77% of these bookings are for the higher variants, with 47% opting for the ADAS variants. Considering this huge demand, the Korean carmaker has now introduced two new ADAS-equipped variants for the Seltos: GTX+ (S) and X-Line (S).

- As shown in the table above, these newly introduced GTX+ (S) and X-Line (S) variants are priced Rs 40,000 lower than their respective GTX+/X-Line trims.
- For this price gap, features like a 360-degree camera and BOSE premium sound system have been dropped for a reversing camera and an unbranded 6-speaker setup.

- Features like 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment with wireless Apple Carplay and Android Auto, connected car tech, panoramic sunroof, digital driver’s display, dual-zone climate control, rear AC vents, ventilated front seats, air purifier, 8-way power adjustable driver’s seat, ambient lighting, six airbags, and ADAS have been retained from the more expensive respective GTX+/X-Line trims.
- With these new variants, Kia is expecting the waiting period to reduce from the current 15-16 weeks to 7-9 weeks.
Engine and Transmission
As the above table indicates, the new Kia Seltos GTX+ (S) and X-Line (S) variants are only offered with the 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol and 1.5-litre diesel engines, mated to a 7-speed DCT and 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission, respectively.
Kia also offers these engine options with a 6-speed iMT (clutchless manual) unit with other variants. The lineup also includes a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine with 6-speed manual and CVT gearbox options.

Competition
The Kia Seltos rivals the likes of the Hyundai Creta, Toyota Hyryder, Maruti Grand Vitara, MG Astor, Skoda Kushaq, Honda Elevate and Volkswagen Taigun.
