The beguiling behemoth of BMW, the X7, gets a major redesign for the upcoming year, making it a much more compelling option in the ultra-luxury SUV segment and a formidable rival for the likes of the Mercedes GLS, Audi Q7, Volvo XC90, and Range Rover Velar to name a few.
2023 BMW X7: What’s New?
Exterior
With the 2023 X7, BMW brings a refreshed front design with a split LED headlamp setup, featuring the DRLs placed above and the headlights situated below. The split headlamps bring about a new design language for BMW’s premium line-up that will also be implemented in their premium 7-Series sedan as well. The kidney grille remains just as big and outrageous as the current model, but it looks smaller due to the split headlamps design. It is now also available with an illuminated grille option.
Apart from the revised front end, other subtle changes like tinted rear taillights, added chrome design, tons of colors to choose from, and an option for 21-inch, 22-inch, and even massive 23-inch wheels. Also new is the Sparkling Copper Grey Metallic paint option.

Interior Changes
The interior of the new BMW X7 also witnesses a massive overhaul, now coming with BMW’s iDrive 8 system comprising of massive dual-curved displays with one part being a 12.3-inch driver’s display and the other being a 14.9-inch infotainment system. These curved displays are floating and sitting on a smooth wooden finish dashboard that also features an illuminated ambient light bar. There is also a new selector lever, Sensafin upholstery, and driver assistance features as well, such as Parking Assistant, Trailer Assistant, Reversing Assistant, and Manoeuvre Assistant. Besides, it also comes fitted with a panoramic sunroof, heated front seats, air suspension, and Comfort Access as standard fitment.

Engine and Variants on offer
The new X7 will be offered in three variants: xDrive 40i, xDrive 40d, and the top-spec M60i. Later in its life, the Alpina XB7 will also join the lineup.
All the variants come equipped with hybridized powertrain this time around and will be paired with an 8-speed sport automatic transmission, but the Alpina additionally will come with its ALPINA SWITCH-TRONIC technology with quick shifts.
