2022 Maruti Suzuki Ertiga To Get New Powertrain and Paddle Shifters; Bookings Open Officially

  • The new Maruti Ertiga gets a revised grille, updated headlamp cluster, paddle shifters (for the first time), and a new SmartPlay Pro touchscreen infotainment system.
  • Will get a new 1.5-liter DualJet petrol engine with enhanced performance and fuel efficiency.
  • Transmission opinions will include a new 6-speed automatic and the existing 5-speed manual units.
  • Higher-spec ZXI trim will now be available with the optional CNG powertrain.

Maruti Suzuki has teased the next-gen Ertiga ahead of its launch in the coming days. Official bookings of the MPV have also begun online and at authorized dealerships for a token amount of Rs 11,000.

2022 Maruti Suzuki Ertiga – What’s New

Design: – The latest teaser video and images reveals some crucial details about the new Ertiga. For starters, the 7-seater people mover will receive slightly revised dual-barrel projector headlights and a new mesh-pattern grille inserts, giving its front profile a refreshing appeal. While the silhouette of the car remains unchanged, it is expected to get a new set of alloy wheels.

Interior and Features: – Inside, the new Baleno will retain the outgoing model’s dashboard layout, albeit with a new 7-inch SmartPlay Pro touchscreen infotainment system borrowed from Baleno’s Zeta variant. It will also feature an advanced version of the Suzuki Connect, and paddle shifters with automatic variants. While it is not official, we believe the new Ertiga could also gain side & curtain airbags for added safety.

New Engine and Automatic Transmission: Maruti Suzuki has revealed that the MY2022 Ertiga will be powered by the new-generation K-series 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder, DualJet, DualVVT engine with Progressive Smart Hybrid Technology and an advanced 6-speed automatic transmission, replacing the aged 4-speed unit. Besides, it will retain its existing 5-speed manual gearbox. This powerhouse can be specced with an environment-friendly CNG kit as well.

More Fuel Efficient: – While Maruti is yet to reveal the mileage figures, it has asserted that the new Ertiga will be more fuel-efficient than the ongoing model.

Features-loaded CNG variant on offer: Maruti Suzuki has also revealed that the optional factory-fitted CNG kit, which was earlier limited to the mid-spec VXI trim, will now be available with the second-from-top ZXI variant as well.

Price Expectations: Expect Maruti to price the new Ertiga from Rs 8.25 lakh to Rs 11 lakh (ex-showroom).
