Ampere EV has finally launched the Nexus electric family scooter at an introductory price of Rs 1,09,900 (ex-showroom Delhi, including EMPS subsidy). It is the brand’s most premium offering to date.

- The Nexus showcases a boxy, family-oriented design, with footpegs seamlessly integrated into the bodywork. It features a unique LED headlamp, claimed by the brand to be the brightest among all scooters currently available on the market. It also boasts a generously sized single-piece seat accompanied by a sleek grabrail. Additionally, the Nexus is equipped with front air intake and rear exhaust vents, ensuring optimal airflow for its internal components.

- Powering the Nexus is a swingarm-mounted electric motor that makes 4kW of peak power and a top speed of 93 kmph. It draws its charge from a 3kWh LFP (lithium iron phosphate) battery pack that claims a range of 136 kilometres.
- Ampere claims 0 to 100 per cent charging time to be approximately 3.3 hours.
- Underpinnings of this scooter comprise telescopic fork, twin shock absorbers at rear, front disc brake and rear drum brake setup.
- The scooter rides on 12-inch alloy wheels with tubeless tyres.
- Regarding features, the new Ampere EV gets an all-LED lighting, a 6.2-inch LCD instrument console for the EX variant, a larger 7-inch TFT touchscreen unit for the ST variant, Bluetooth and wifi connectivity, OTA updates support, five riding modes, and auto day/night display modes.
- It also comes with a 3+2 years extended warranty and 24/7 roadside assistance.

- Ampere offers the Nexus in four colour options – Zanskar Aqua, Lunar White, Steel Grey and Indian Red.
- Bookings for the Nexus are now open at Rs 9,999, while deliveries will start by the end of May 2024.
- In the electric scooter segment, the Ampere Nexus rivals the likes of Ola S1 Air (Rs 1.05 lakh), Ather Rizta (Rs 1.12 – 1.47 lakh), TVS iQube (Rs 1.20 – 1.29 lakh), Bajaj Chetak (Rs 1.15 – 1.44 lakh), and Hero Vida V1 Pro (Rs 1.50 lakh).
