Your Wait For Tata Punch Will Be Over Tomorrow

Tata Motors is all set to launch the highly awaited Punch tomorrow. Its official bookings are already underway for a token amount of Rs 21,000. Here's all we know about the upcoming micro-SUV ahead of its launch: –

  • Sturdy Appearance: – Based on Tata's Impact Design philosophy, the Tata Punch looks quite rugged and premium, thanks to its Harrier-inspired headlamp setup & bumpers, and Nexon's like front grille & tri-arrow mesh on the air intakes. 

  • Dimensions: – The Punch is 3840mm long, 1800mm wide, and 1635mm tall. It offers 366 litres of boot space and possesses the segment's highest ground clearance of 187mm. Its water wading capacity is 370mm, whereas its approach, departure, and brake-over-angle are 20.3-degree, 37.6-degree, and 22.2-degree, respectively. 

  • Variants: – The Punch will be offered in four broad variants – Pure, Adventure, Accomplished, and Creative.

  • Key Features & Factory Customisation Options: – Punch largely shares its features list with the Altroz premium hatchback. That said, it comes with a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, iRA connected car tech (optional), a 7-inch semi-digital instrument cluster, a Harman Kardon audio system, automatic climate control, cooled glovebox, flat-bottom steering wheel with steering-mounted controls, auto headlights, rain-sensing wipers, keyless entry with push-button start/stop, cruise control, multiple driving modes, dual-airbags, ABS with EBD, Traction Pro Mode and much more. Tata is also offering pre-defined accessory packs (optional) for all four trims.   • GNCAP Safety Rating: – Based on the ALFA-ARC platform as the Tata Altroz, the Punch has secured a 5-star safety rating for adult protection and a 4-star rating for child occupants protection. Click here for a detailed test report. 

  • Powertrain: – Tata has equipped the Punch with a 1.2-liter 3-cylinder petrol engine (86PS/113Nm), paired with either a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed AMT transmission.

  • Color Options: – The micro-SUV can be had in the Orcus White, Daytona Grey, Atomic Orange, Tropical Mist, Meteor Bronze, Tornado Blue, and Calypso Red paint options. While the starting two hues will come with a white-colored roof & ORVMs in the top-spec Creative trim, the rest of all will get black finishing for the same. 

  • Expected Price and Rivals: – Tata is likely to price the Punch from Rs 5.5 lakh (ex-showroom). Once launched, it will go up against the Maruti Suzuki Ignis and Mahindra KUV100 NXT
