For those who aren’t aware, the Skoda Slavia will be offered in three variants: Active, Ambition, and Style, and five color options: Brilliant Silver, Tornado Red, Crystal Blue, Candy White, and Carbon Steel.

In terms of design, it borrows its styling cues from the Octavia and Superb sedans. That said, it features Skoda’s traditional butterfly grille up front, flanked by sleek LED headlamps that get crystalline detailing. It has a slanted roofline that seamlessly merges into the rear section. The other notable design bits of the new sedan include a cleaner side profile, 16-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, split C-shaped LED tail lamps, and a ‘SKODA’ inscription over the boot lid.

The Interior of the Skoda Slavia is quite identical to the global-spec Skoda Fabia, featuring a minimalistic cabin design. It has a layered dashboard, finished in a black-&-beige colour theme adding to the premium-ness of the car. It gets a two-spoke steering wheel and a bronze stripe running across the dashboard.

As for features, the Slavia shares its features list with the Kushaq SUV. Highlights include a single-pane electric sunroof, a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple Carplay and Android Auto, connected car tech, an 8-inch digital driver’s display, touch-based climate control, rear AC vents, ventilated front seats, wireless smartphone charging pad, cruise control, auto headlamps & wipers, six airbags, ESC, traction control, hill hold control, and much more.

Under the hood, the Slavia gets the Kushaq’s 115PS 1.0-litre TSI and 150PS 1.5-litre TSI turbocharged petrol engines. While a 6-speed manual is offered as standard, the smaller capacity mill can also be had with a 6-speed torque converter AT. On the other hand, the 1.5-liter mill gets an optional 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission (DSG).

Expect Skoda to price the Slavia from Rs 10.5 lakh (ex-showroom) onwards. Once launched, it will go up against the Honda City, Hyundai Verna, Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, and the upcoming Toyota Belta and its sibling rival Volkswagen Virtus that will be revealed in March this year.
