What Are Switchable Type Controllers In Hyundai Kia Cars?

Hyundai Motor is all set to launch the new-gen Verna on March 21, 2023. The sedan will undergo significant design and feature changes. As already revealed by the carmaker, the new-age Hyundai Verna will receive a host of segment-first features, including switchable-type infotainment and climate controllers. But what exactly is it?

As the name suggests, this is the single controller that controls both the infotainment and the climate control system. At the touch of a button, you can switch between the two. Until now, this feature has only been found in high-end Hyundai Group cars, such as the Kia EV6 and Niro. The 2023 Hyundai Verna will be the first mass-market Hyundai model to get switchable controllers.

How To Use Hyundai’s Switchable Type Controllers?

  • This controller system comes with a touch-based panel.
  • By holding the switch button, one can swap between the infotainment system and the climate control panel.
  • You can also set the default mode for the control panel by holding the switch button.
  • It is worth noting that when the vehicle will be in the ACC (ACCESSORY) position, only the infotainment system will work.

With this switchable type intuitive interface, new-age customers will enjoy a seamless and modern experience. Expect more future Hyundai Group models to get this feature.

There will also be horizontal LED positioning and daytime running lamps spanning the width of the car. Click here for more details.

Bookings for the 2023 Hyundai Verna have already been commenced for a sum of Rs 25,000. Expect it to command a significant price premium over its outgoing model. Once launched, it will revive its rivalry with the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, Volkswagen Virtus, Skoda Slavia, and the recently updated Honda City.
