Volkswagen Tayron 7-Seater SUV Spied Testing In India In R-Line Avatar

Volkswagen has recently launched the Tiguan R Line in India, and now the German automaker is expected to launch its 7-seater iteration called the Tayron. It was recently spotted testing in Maharashtra in R-Line avatar. However, Volkswagen has yet to confirm whether it will be brought to India or not. If launched in India, it will serve as a successor to the now-discontinued Volkswagen Tiguan AllSpace, and will be positioned against the Jeep Meridian, Skoda Kodiaq, Toyota Fortuner, and MG Gloster.

Globally, the Tayron R-Line comes with three engine options: a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol (150PS/250Nm), a 2-litre turbo-petrol (upto 265PS/400Nm), and a 2-litre turbo-diesel (150PS/360Nm), all of which are mated to a 7-speed DCT automatic transmission. Additionally, both the 2-litre mills also get an all-wheel-drive system as standard. In India, we expect the Tayron to get only the 2-litre turbocharged petrol engine.
