Vinfast Set To Enter India With Two Cars By Festive Season

Vietnamese automobile brand Vinfast made its debut in India at the ongoing Auto Expo 2025. The brand showcased some of its global models at the mobility show. Now, Vinfast has confirmed that it will begin its journey in India with two cars, VF6 and VF7, set to launch by the festive season this year.

As per Carwale’s report, Vinfast is currently studying the Indian market and these EVs will be modified for the Indian conditions. The brand is expected to assemble these EVs at its facility in Thoothukudi, Tamil Nadu.

Vinfast VF6 India Launch

For those unaware, the Vinfast VF6 is a mid-size electric SUV that will be positioned against the Hyundai Creta EV, Maruti eVitara and Mahindra BE 6. Globally, the VF6 comes with a 59.6kWh battery pack that claims a range of up to 399 kilometres on a single charge. Equipped with a front-wheel-drive (FWD) motor, it produces up to 204PS of max power and 310Nm of peak torque. We expect Vinfast to price it at around Rs 35 lakh (ex-showroom).

Vinfast VF7 India Launch

Speaking of the Vinfast VF7, it is a premium mid-size SUV with a bold and aerodynamic design, sporting a coupe-like roofline that gives it a dynamic appearance. It is expected to be the brand’s first vehicle in India. It gets a 75.3kWh battery pack, delivering a range of up to 450 kilometres. It gets the option of both single motor and dual-motor setup that churns out 204PS/310Nm and 354PS/500Nm, respectively. It is expected to be priced at around Rs 60 lakh (ex-showroom), positioning it against the upcoming Kia EV6 facelift.

In other news, Vingroup plans to bring its complete ecosystem approach to India and is open to forming partnerships with local vendors to increase localisation and build a stronger EV ecosystem.
