Ultraviolette F77- India’s Fastest Electric Bike Launched

Ultraviolette Automotive, a Bengaluru-based startup, has finally launched its first electric motorcycle, the F77, at a starting price of Rs 3.80 lakh (ex-showroom). Among all electric bikes sold in India, this is claimed to be the fastest and has the best range of all.

Bookings for the F77 are already underway, while its deliveries will commence in January 2023 in Bengaluru, followed by a phase-wise expansion in other cities.

Ultraviolette F77 – Specifications, Charging Time and Range

Starting with the powertrain, the F77 features a massive 10.5kWh fixed battery pack in its top-spec variant, claiming an IDC (Indian Driving Cycle) range of 307 km per charge. It makes it the highest-range-offering electric production bike in India. Rated at 40.5HP/100Nm, its powerful electric motor can propel the bike from 0-60 kmph in less than 3 seconds before reaching the top speed of 152 kmph.

Using a boost charger, the electric superbike can be energised for up to 75 km of range in an hour.

Design, Underpinnings and Features

Design-wise, the Ultraviolette F77 dons a street fighter-like appearance, with aggressive-looking body panels, LED projector headlamps and wide a clip-on handlebar for agile handling. It will be offered in three style forms – Airstrike, Shadow, and Laser, which reflect three unique characters.

As for features, it offers a Bluetooth-equipped fully digital instrument console with connected tech, navigation, 9-axis IMU and more. In addition, there are three riding modes – Glide, Combat, and Ballistic- that alter power delivery and ABS settings.

As for underpinnings, the F77 get a 41mm inverted fork up front and a pre-load adjustable monoshock setup at the rear, with disc brakes at both ends, assisted by a dual-channel Antilock Braking System. It rides on 17-inch alloy wheels shod with 110/70 R17 front and 150/60 R17 section rear tubeless tyres. The bike has a ground clearance of 160mm and a saddle height of 800mm. Tipping the scale at 207kg, the bike’s weight is on the higher side.

Rivals

The Ultraviolette F77 doesn’t have any direct rivals in the Indian market. It can be seen as a premium alternative to the Revolt RV 400, Oben Rorr, Hop Oxo and Tork Kratos.
