TVS Teased Its Upcoming 125cc Bike; Is this The Fiero 125?

TVS Motor Company has released a bunch of teasers of its upcoming 125cc bike that is expected to revive the iconic Fiero moniker. However, the 'R' badge in the teaser indicates that it could be named ''Raider'' or ''Retron'', considering the Hosur-based bikemaker has already trademarked both nomenclatures in India. It will be launched on September 16, 2021.

Going by the teaser videos, it is secure to say that the motorcycle flaunts a sporty demeanor. It features a quirky Bumblebee-like front facia with twin C-shaped DRLs integrated into the LED headlamp. The fuel tank of the bike looks slightly beefier with sporty extensions that are further accentuated by the dual-tone finish.

The instrument cluster of the upcoming TVS commuter is fully digital that shows all the essential information, including the gear position, service reminder, low fuel indication, trip info, clock, eco mode sign, side-stand indication, etc. However, the Bluetooth connectivity seems to be missing here.

The other notable elements of the bike include a wide single-piece handlebar, split seats for relaxed ergonomics, bulb-type indicators, and an LED tail lamp with a keyhole placed under it. While the engine details are scarce at the moment, it is expected to be powered by an 11PS 125cc air-cooled motor paired to a 5-speed transmission.

Expect the new TVS commuter motorcycle to be priced at around Rs 73,000. When launched, it will go up against the Honda SP 125, Hero Glamour, and Bajaj Pulsar NS 125.
