TVS Ronin Gets New Midnight Blue Colour; Base Variant Now More Affordable

TVS Motor Company has launched a new Midnight Blue colour for the range-topping TD Special Edition, which is priced at Rs 1,72,700 (ex-showroom). The bike maker has also reduced the price of the base-spec SS variant by Rs 14,200, bringing the starting price of this 225cc neo-retro cruise to Rs 1,35,000 (ex-showroom). Speaking of the new Midnight Blue hue, it features a glossy blue finish on most of the fuel tank and side panels, accented by a fluorescent stripe separating it from the grey sections.

For those who aren’t aware, the TVS Ronin TD Special Edition version flaunts the “Ronin” branding on the wheel rims, an all-black treatment on the lower part of the motorcycle, which extends to the headlamp bezel. In addition, the bike also comes equipped with some pre-fitted accessories, such as a tinted visor, a USB charger, and a uniquely designed EFI cover. The other notable features of the TVS Ronin include: –

  • An automatic LED headlamp with a T-shaped integrated LED DRL for better visibility & distinctive look.
  • Slipper clutch to reduce engine braking force.
  • Adjustable brake & clutch levers for a customisable riding experience.
  • Dual-channel ABS for added safety.
  • Hazard lamp for emergency situations.
  • Two riding modes (Rain and Urban) to suit different riding conditions.
  • Glide Through Technology (GTT) that enables low-speed manoeuvring in traffic without the need for throttle input.
  • Digital instrument cluster with side stand indicator, gearshift assist, distance to empty meter.
  • Bluetooth-based TVS SmartXonnect tech with voice assist, turn-by-turn navigation support, incoming call alert, custom window notification, and ride analysis function.
  • Golden finished USD front fork – adding premium aesthetic with improved handling.
  • 7-step preload adjustable monoshock for a customisable comfortable ride.

Propulsion Duties

Powering the TVS Ronin is a 225.9cc, air-oil-cooled, single-cylinder, engine that makes 20PS of peak power, along with a max twist of 19.93Nm. It comes mated to a 5-speed gearbox, with an assist & slipper clutch. The bike has a top speed of 120 kmph.

Rivals

The TVS Ronin can be seen as the closest alternative to the Royal Enfield Hunter 350 and Jawa 42.
