TVS Raider Gets A New SmartXonnect Variant At Rs 99,990

  • The SmartXonnect variant comes with several connected features over the standard variant.
  • The hardware remains unchanged.
  • Rivals the Hero Glamour Xtec, Bajaj Pulsar NS 125, Honda SP125, and the recently launched Keeway SR125.

TVS’s sporty 125cc bike, the Raider, has received a new tech-savvy variant called ‘SmartXonnect’ at Rs 99,990 (ex-showroom). At this price point, it is Rs 6,501 more expensive than the standard disc brake variant.

TVS Raider 125 SmartXonnect – What’s New?

As the name suggests, the new variant benefits from a new 5-inch TFT rider’s display, equipped with TVS’ SmartXonnect Bluetooth connectivity system that offers features like voice assist, turn-by-turn navigation, auto navigation to the nearest petrol pump in case of low fuel, weather updates, music control, call/SMS alerts, news updates, and social media updates. Besides, features like Eco & Power riding modes, real-time mileage indicator, service reminder and low battery indicator, etc., continue to be on offer.

Are there any mechanical changes?

No, the new TVS Raider SmartXonnect variant gets the same 124.8cc, single-cylinder air-oil-cooled, fuel-injected engine (11.38PS/11.2Nm) as the other variants that also features an integrated starter generator for silent starts and an idling stop-start system for optimum fuel efficiency.

The underpinnings of the bike also remain the same as the regular variants, comprising a telescopic front fork and a 5-step preload-adjustable monoshock at the rear. The braking setup includes a 240mm front petal disc and a 130mm rear drum unit.

Author’s Take

We appreciate all the technology that the TVS Raider 125 comes with. However, it would have been an ideal package if a single-channel Antilock Braking System (ABS) was also offered.
