Apart from these visual enhancements, both models remain the same. The TVS Apache RTR 160 4V retains its 159.7cc four-valve, air/oil-cooled engine, delivering 17.55PS at 8600rpm and 14.73Nm at 7250rpm. Similarly, the TVS Apache RTR 160 2V continues with its 159.7cc two-valve air-cooled engine, producing 16.04PS at 8750rpm and 13.85Nm at 7000rpm. Both models feature single-channel ABS, three riding modes (Sport, Urban & Rain), a digital instrument cluster, an LED headlight & tail lamp, tubeless tyres, and Glide-through Technology (GTT). The latter enables automatic throttle control at low speeds and reduces the need for constant clutch usage in stop-and-go traffic conditions. Additionally, both bikes are equipped with a telescopic fork at the front; however, the RTR 160 has twin shock absorbers at the rear, while the RTR 160 4V is fitted with a monoshock.

In the naked sports segment, the TVS Apache RTR 160 Series locks horns with the Bajaj Pulsar NS160, Yamaha FZS-Fi, and Suzuki Gixxer.
