After a long wait, the British bikemaker Triumph has finally launched its most affordable offering, the Trident 660, in the Indian market. Priced at Rs 6.95 lakh (introductory, ex-showroom), this naked motorcycle is the smallest bike in Triumph India line-up. Triumph Trident 660 specifications

Triumph Trident 660 – Engine and Underpinning

The Triumph Trident 660 is powered by an all-new BS6-compliant 660cc, liquid-cooled, inline 3-cylinder motor that comes mated to a 6-speed transmission with an assist & slipper clutch that provides a light action clutch and decreases rider fatigue. The engine makes out 81PS of power at 10,250rpm (13PS more than the Kawasaki Z650) and a peak torque of 64Nm at 6,250rpm. The brand claims most of the Trident’s torque is available from as low as 3,600rpm. Triumph is also offering an optional bi-directional quickshifter at Rs 29,000.

Design-wise, this compact but impactful machine looks quite attractive with its round LED headlamp and a brawny fuel tank that comes with knee indents. It also gets 17-inch cast aluminium wheels and sleek LED taillamps which will remind you of the Street Triple 675.
