Toyota India has finally revealed the complete price list of its all-new Urban Cruiser Hyryder mid-size SUV. So without wasting any time, let’s see how it fares against its sibling rival, the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara.

  • As the above table indicates, the price difference between the mild-hybrid petrol variants of Toyota Hyryder and Maruti Grand Vitara ranges between Rs 3,000 to Rs 50,000, depending on the variant. The entry-level E variant has the least price difference, whereas the mid-spec V has the most.
  • Both SUVs are powered by the same Suzuki-sourced 1.5-liter, 4-cylinder K15C petrol engine (103PS/137Nm), linked to a 48V mild-hybrid system that provides torque boost in certain conditions. It also features idle start/stop function for optimum fuel efficiency. That said, it is claimed to provide a mileage of 21.11kmpl in its manual and 20.58kmpl in its automatic guise. At 19.38kmpl, its AWD version is also quite frugal.

  • Customers opting for the strong hybrid model have wider & more affordable variant options in the Toyota Hyryder.
  • The G and V strong-hybrid variants of Toyota Hyryder are Rs 50,000 more affordable than their corresponding rivalry trims.
  • It is worth noting that Maruti Suzuki is providing a special introductory package of extended warranty till 5 years / 1 lakh km (whichever occurs earlier) and official accessories worth over Rs 67,000 free on the strong-hybrid variants of the Grand Vitara. However, this is a limited period offer only.
  • All the strong hybrid variants of the Hyryder and Grand Vitara employ Toyota’s 1.5-litre, 3-cylinder, TNGA petrol engine with an 80.2PS/144Nm electric motor and a small lithium-ion battery pack. This self-charging hybrid powertrain offers a combined output of 116PS and a claimed fuel economy of 27.97kmpl. It uses a single-speed e-CVT automatic transmission to drive the front wheels of the car.
