Today, on the occasion of World EV Day, Toyota has launched its first mass-market strong-hybrid mid-size SUV in India, the Hyryder. Jointly developed with Suzuki, the Toyota Hyryder will be available in four trims and two engine options. Here’s a look at their prices: –

Talking about the engine specs, the Suzuki sourced 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder, K-series petrol engine, paired with a 48V mild-hybrid tech, generates a maximum power putout of 103PS and a peak torque of 135Nm. It can be had with a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission. It also gets the segment’s first all-wheel-drive (AWD) system.
The biggest highlight of Toyota Hyryder is its 1.5-liter TNGA petrol engine linked with a self-charging strong hybrid system that can run the SUV in pure EV mode as well. It gets a single-speed e-CVT transmission and claims to offer a fuel efficiency of 27.97kmpl.
