Starting with the powertrain, the Isuzu mu-X has received a new 1.9-liter DDi turbocharged BS6 diesel engine instead of the older 3.0-liter unit. This CI mill also gets an updated 6-speed automatic gearbox that can be had with either a rear-wheel or a shift-on-the-fly four-wheel drivetrain.
Design-wise, this 7-seater Japanese SUV remains unchanged. It will continue to get the upright & husky stance with notable design elements like heavily chrome-finished grille, bi-LED projector headlamps with integrated LED DRLs, dual-tone bumpers, 18-inch alloy wheels with muscular wheel arches, LED elements inside the LED taillamp cluster, etc. However, to keeps things fresh, Isuzu has introduced a new Nautilus Blue color. Besides, it also gets all the existing shades: Red Spinal Mica, Silky White, Pearl Galena, Grey Black Mica, and Silver Metallic.
Inside, 2021 mu-X retains the older dashboard layout, which looks pretty outdated now, especially against its competitors. In terms of features, it maintains most of the equipment from the previous model.
