Toyota Fortuner Achieves Landmark Milestone of 3-Lakh Sales in India

The Toyota Fortuner has surpassed the three lakh sales milestone in India. Ever since its launch in 2009, the SUV has remained the best seller in its segment. Let us take a brief look at what makes the Toyota Fortuner and Legender so popular on our shores:

Thanks to the Fortuner’s muscular and rugged looks, it has always been the customer’s first choice in its segment, offering a commanding road presence, reliable performance, and the go-anywhere 4×4 capability that SUV buyers seek.

Completing its bold design are features like full-LED lighting, a spacious cabin with premium leather upholstery, ventilated front seats, an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with connected tech, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, cruise control, 11-speaker JBL sound system, coloured MID and advanced safety features including seven airbags, vehicle stability control, and hill assist.

Powered by a robust 204PS/500Nm 2.8-litre diesel engine and available with 4×4 capability, the Fortuner blends urban comfort with off-road readiness, making it a complete package for those who demand performance and versatility.

Currently, Toyota retails the Fortuner and Legender between Rs 35.37 – 51.94 lakh (ex-showroom), positioning it against the MG Gloster, Jeep Meridian and petrol-only Skoda Kodiaq.

Speaking on the milestone, Mr. Varinder Wadhwa, Vice President, Sales-Service-Used Car Business, Toyota Kirloskar Motor, said, “We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the passionate Fortuner and Legender fan base in India for their unwavering trust in our brand as we celebrate the remarkable 3-lakh milestone of our most admired SUV. The Fortuner and Legender remain a top choice among SUV enthusiasts who seek a perfect blend of luxury, performance, and reliability. Whether navigating city streets or tackling challenging terrains, it offers premium feel paired with robust strength. Built on the solid foundation of Toyota’s renowned QDR (Quality, Durability and Reliability) philosophy – the Fortuner and Legender embody the core values that define our engineering and manufacturing excellence. These principles are central to Toyota’s global reputation for delivering vehicles that not only last but perform consistently and retain their value over time, thus bringing mass happiness to all”.
