Top 10 Selling Cars of August 2025: Maruti Dominates; Nexon Gain Momentum

  • Maruti Suzuki dominated with eight out of the top 10.
  • Dzire witnessed the higher YoY growth, while Brezza saw the biggest dip.
  • Tata Nexon and Hyundai Creta remain strong, leading their segments, respectively.

August 2025 sales figures are out, and Maruti Suzuki has once again stamped its authority on the market, securing eight of the top 10 spots. Tata and Hyundai managed to secure one spot each on the top 10 list.

  • At the top of the chart stood the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, clocking 18,445 units, though it witnessed a marginal 1% YoY decline.
  • The Dzire followed closely with 16,509 units, recording a massive 55% YoY growth, making it one of the biggest gainers of the month.
  • The Hyundai Creta, India’s bestselling SUV, took the third spot with 15,924 units, slipping by 5% YoY.
  • Wagon R dropped to fourth, registering 14,552 units, down 12% YoY.
  • Tata Motors found a place in the top five with the Nexon, selling 14,004 units — marking a 14% YoY growth, a positive recovery after months of mixed performance.
  • Down the list, the Maruti Brezza witnessed the sharpest fall, down 29% YoY to 13,620 units.
  • The Baleno held steady with 12,549 units (up 1% YoY), while the Fronx maintained its momentum with 12,422 units (flat YoY).
  • The Swift sold 12,385 units, showing a 4% dip, and the Eeco closed the list at 10,785 units, down 2% YoY.
